JOHN SELLINGER
John J. Sellinger graduated from the Georgetown University Law Center in 1975. After an initial period of general practice, he has concentrated his efforts in the area of complex civil litigation, with primary emphasis in the representation of injured victims of medical malpractice and defective products. In the past 20 years, John has handled hundreds of medical malpractice and wrongful death cases, involving nearly every medical specialty and injury from birth trauma to dermatology.
John was the youngest President in the history of the Maryland Trial Lawyers Association (MTLA), and continues to sit on the Board of Governors. He has also represented MTLA as its legislative representative in Annapolis. John was one of the founders of the MTLA Political Action Committee (PAC) and has served on the Board of the PAC. He has drafted legislation in the area of litigation that has been enacted into law by the Maryland General Assembly.
John has lectured at the request of the MTLA and the Montgomery County Bar Association. He is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and is a member of that group's Birth Trauma Litigation Group.
Martindale Hubbell has given John Sellinger an "AV" rating – the highest rating an attorney can receive for competence and ethics.
Mr. Sellinger resides in Rockville, Maryland, is married, and has five children.
